Invoicing Software

Invoicing Software

I’ve been looking recently at trying to create invoice templates that you can use in your business as part of our Business Toolbox series. I came across a piece of software a few months back that while pretty basic in nature actually has the potential to help many businesses who’s invoicing and billing needs are pretty basic. Just to point out that i’m not being paid to promote this software, i’m doing it because I genuinely believe it’s a great tool for small businesses.

Invoicing Software by SliqTools

I’ve put some of the main features I like below:-

  • The Invoice templates are superb and will certainly give you a professional image.
  • The set-up is very easy. You’ll be raising invoices in no time!
  • Multi-Company – A great feature which means if you have a few ventures they can all be run through it.
  • Quote facility – Great for trades people etc. And you can convert a quote to an invoice easily.

I think I need to point out that this isn’t accounts software. The basic premise is that it allows you to invoice your customers and also track who’s paid you and who hasn’t. For a one-off cost of less than £30 I have to say that this is a great buy and yes I do have a copy myself!

I’ll just add as well that it seems very well supported and the software is updated on a regular basis. This is maybe an overlooked area but it is important that there is support there if you need it.

Maybe at some point in the future I will get around to seeing what other products are out there that are similar so that we can run a test across a few different offerings. For now though Sliq invoicing really does do everything you need it to do.

If you use other products yourself or indeed use Sliq Invoicing then we would love to hear your thoughts in our comment section.

I purchased sliq invoicing and had to change to a new computer. Sliq’s website said they would support a move to a new computer at no charge but when I emailed them about it they said I had to buy new software. I have told everyone about this and to stay clear of sliq as they are dishonest. Purchasing sliq was on my top ten list of worst compaies ever!

I found that Sliq isn’t the most stable invoice software to use and after first installing it (on Windows 7) it didn’t work at all although after closing and re-opening it seemed OK.

I find most invoice programs need you to start adding customers and products to lists before you can use them and also some business details before you can really start churning out invoices and Sliq is no exception to this.

One program I did find that was easier to set up and quicker to start using was Easy Invoicing UK – After installation I found this program only needed a Business Name to get started and when you create your first invoice you can type your customers name and address directly into the boxes there, add a few products with prices, press ‘Print’ and it was done.. simple as that!

I won’t use anything else now, I have never needed their support because the program just ‘works’ and they answered my questions quickly and precisely before I bought the product.

Believe me when I say I tried dozens of invoicing programs first before I found Easy Invoicing UK was probably the easiest to get on with.

I’m not sure what the first commenter above means. I’ve moved PCs a couple of times since buying SliQ. All I need to do is reinstall the software that I originally downloaded or install from the backup CD I bought. The SliQ website has a page that lets you ask for your unlock code to be emailed to you so you don’t need to worry if you forget it.

I was reading this post with interest until I realised you have to install SliQ on your computer. What’s the point of that when you’ve got so many great web-based solutions? The ones I’m familiar with and would recommend are http://freshbooks.com, http://sendinvoice.co.uk and http://www.billonsite.com, but I’m sure there are many more…
